Project Highlight: School Fees

Each year as another school year begins, it brings with it a tremendous need: school fees. Many of our care point children are eager to head back to school, but are unable to pay.
Most schools in Swaziland are government run, but still require families to pay for tuition, books, stationary, and uniforms. School fees range between $50 and $600 dollars each year, but
considering the average Swazi lives on less than $2 a day, this is an impossible amount. The Swaziland government has historically paid these fees for vulnerable children, but last year they
announced that this policy is ending. Schools will often chase away children who have not paid.
